 Poinsettias

It wasn’t long into Cushman’s history before Nick and Steve started experimenting with poinsettias.  Today you’ll find Cushman’s Greenhouse raising 17,000 poinsettias in many different colors and sizes.  The traditional red in many styles and shades remains the popular poinsettia, but at Cushman’s you will also find different shades of pink, salmon, purple, and white.  There are varieties with flecked leaves or a paint-spattered effect.  Some have a marble look with variegated green leaves.  It’s a breathtaking display of holiday color!

It all starts in late July when pots are filled with soil in preparation for the rooted cuttings which arrive early August.  The poinsettias are then carefully watched and cared for.  This is one of our favorite times of the year.  Every day it seems like the poinsettias are a little more colorful!  It is fun to watch them turn color and anticipate the Christmas season!  We want nothing but the best quality poinsettias for our wholesale and retail customers!

At Cushman’s we offer poinsettias in 5, 6, 7, and 8 inch pot sizes along with hanging baskets.  We have a large selection of pot covers and bows!  How about glitter to give it a shimmer!
